When I bought it off of ebay, it was new never worn. I knew it would need some alterations. I would guess it was someone’s first attempt at a solo dress. This dress spent a long time with a our dress make before my daughter could even wear it. I will preface this whole thing by saying it has been very lucky for my daughter, placing all out of novice and 18 firsts in OPW. It will be the dress we put into a shadow box if it doesn’t sell. Dispite it’s close up flaws, it had it’s dress stalkers, and we are sad to be selling it. We spent a long time looking for a jacket or vest to ‘update’ it, never found the right piece and considered redoing the bodice. So it is up for sale, and hopefully your dancer will be as successful wearing it.

1)There are tailor markings on the back/top of skirt that were attempted to remove, but instead took the color out of the satin. This is under the cape, and cannot be seen while on stage.

2)Sleeves were put in wrong, when removed, discovered they were not cut right. My seamstress put gussets under the arm. Again not noticable while on stage, but I think the main reason for dress not having ‘worn satin odors’.

3)Zipper and darts were not put in right. Removal of these has left needle holes down entire back (again most covered by cape) and on the bust. Stitching holes are also on the top back where the velcro was in the wrong place. Unfortunately, nothing covers these, but they are not noticeable from stage distance.

4)Skirt panels were put on wrong sides. You cannot see where this was corrected, but the design does fall into the very small kick pleats in the front.

5) I notice there is slight fabric discolorations on the undersides (not under arm) of the sleeves. Very slight, I could not get the camera to pick it up, just looks like shine. Not noticable from stage.

6)Back of skirt is getting ‘floppy’, but would fit in with today’s more modern soft skirts. The front panels are still firm.
